Join us on May 13th from 9-1:30 for a great lineup of speakers and topics including presentations by Bruce Dorris, President & CEO of the ACFE, Use of Data Analytics, Physical Evidence, a visit from the IRS Criminal Investigations Division related to SARS and recent fraud cases, as well as the Annual Chapter Meeting in which election results will be announced.

Speakers:

Bruce Dorris, President & CEO, ACFE, J.D., CFE, CPA
Bruce Dorris is the President and Chief Executive Officer for the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). He also serves as an advisory member to the ACFE Board of Regents. Dorris has conducted anti-fraud training for the United Nations, the American Bankers Association, colleges and universities around the world, as well as with the FBI, GAO and other federal and state law enforcement agencies in the U.S.  His expertise has been featured in interviews with the CNBC’s American Greed, Wall Street Journal, the BBC, and the Atlantic among others.  Dorris earned his Juris Doctor from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 1993 and is licensed to practice law in state and federal courts in Texas and Louisiana. Prior to joining the ACFE, he served as a prosecutor in Louisiana for 13 years, focusing primarily on financial crime investigations. Additionally, he is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant.  Dorris has been with the ACFE for 13 years, previously serving as Vice President and Program Director.
  
 
James Tunkey, Chief Operating Officer, I-OnAsia, CFE
James Tunkey CFE is the New York office head and Chief Operating Officer of I-OnAsia, a global risk management consultancy.  James’s team in the Americas has handled 5,000 assignments since 2004 in critical areas of Due Diligence, Crisis Management, Security Services, Corporate Investigations, and Litigation Support.  James holds a TRIUM MBA, jointly conferred by NYU Stern, the London School of Economics, and HEC Paris.   James has been a Certified Fraud Examiner since 2003.  His fraud investigation work builds on his international experience and skills as an analyst of large and complex data sets.  James has always enjoyed “following the paper trail”.  
  
 
Michael Salé, Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems, Meehan School of Business, Stonehill College
Dr. Michael Salé is an Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems in the Meehan School of Business at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts.  At Stonehill, he is the director of multiple programs, including the Master of Professional Studies in Data Analytics and the undergraduate Management Information Systems program.  He has led the development of a data analytics curriculum for the college and spearheaded establishing a partnership between Stonehill College and the SAS Institute.  
 
Before coming to Stonehill, Dr. Salé was a Senior Project Manager in the higher education software industry, where he led the implementation of enterprise-level administrative software at hundreds of colleges and universities in the United States and overseas. Dr. Salé owns a consulting firm specializing in providing technology and data analytics project services to colleges, universities, and non-profits.  He holds a doctorate in Computing and Information Technology from Pace University.
 
 
David Toy, Assistant Special Agent in Charge Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation, Boston Field Office – Branch A
David Toy is the Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) for the Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation’s (CI) Boston Field Office (BOSFO). The BOSFO’s area of responsibility includes the six New England states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

CI serves the American public by investigating potential criminal violations of the Internal Revenue Code and related financial crimes in a manner that fosters confidence in the tax system and compliance with the law. CI is the only federal law enforcement agency that can investigate and recommend prosecution of criminal tax violations.

In 2001, ASAC Toy began his career in CI as a Special Agent (SA) in the BOSFO.  As an SA, he has worked a variety of fraud investigations, with a focus on the agency’s core mission tax investigations. In 2009, he was promoted to the frontline management Supervisory Special Agent position. Following his frontline management tenure, he served as a Senior Analyst for the Review and Program Evaluation operations section of CI Headquarters. In 2020, he was promoted to senior management ASAC position.

ASAC Toy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting and a minor in Economics, from the University of Massachusetts.
